Since 2014, edACCESS has included The Solution Room as an opening session on day two of the conference.
What Is The Solution Room?
The Solution Room engages and connects participants by providing just-in-time peer support and answers to their most pressing professional challenges. As a participant-led opening session, The Solution Room gives you the opportunity to provide and receive consultation, and get to know your small group members.
This video provides a 1-minute illustration of what The Solution Room is about:
The Solution Room at edACCESS
During The Solution Room session at edACCESS, you’ll meet and build in-depth connections with 4-5 new peers through sharing problems, advice, and support.
At the beginning of The Solution Room session, attendees will be broken into small groups. In your group, you’ll receive help from your peers on a professional problem or challenge you’re experiencing at your school. Deep conversations, practical advice, and actionable steps will come out of each small group as participants help one another to solve their personal challenges – plus some fun doodles as every table is covered with white butcher paper and markers for taking notes, brainstorming and drawing.
The Solution Room concept has been incorporated into conferences since 2014 and provides an energetic and effective alternative to keynote speakers. This interactive session, which typically lasts 90-120 minutes, highlights the amount of peer experience available to attendees at edACCESS and will help you to tap into it for your own benefit.
